out of region places
unless i'm missing something it's not possible to add a restaurant that's in another city (e.g., I'm sitting in Boston but want to add my favorite restaurant in SF) ... that's lame.

Just tap the plus button to go to the “new bookmark” screen, then tap into the search field. You’ll see a “change location” button which allows you to change the location of your search.

Sorry Jared, "change location" isn't to be found. The map is very cumbersome and you really can't add an out of region restaurant quickly.

I got this to work, but it took me one more step. I did "change location" but I had to go back to the home screen and then hit the + again. if I didn't go back to the home screen, the app still had me in the previous city. Let me know if there is a way around this.
