Like other typical iOS apps, we can tap near the time at the top and auto scroll to the top of the list. Would be helpful at the bookmarks screen.1 vote
I'm from New Zealand. Here in the future we use metric. What the hell is a foot?!33 votes
add a way to search the database of a neighborhood regardless of what neighborhood you are currently in
Let's say I'm having lunch with a friend in Studio City and she tells me about a restaurant in Beverly Hills that I should go to. Using my iPhone I try searching for the restaurant in the matchbook data base so that I can bookmark it. But because I am in a different neighborhood than the restaurant I am searching for it does not show up in the matching places database16 votes
This was just completed in the most recent update.
If you know the name of the place
1. Click Add Place
2. Click the field which shows your current City and State. Change this to the City/State that you want to search in.
3. Enter the name of the place and click Search.
If you want to search for popular places in a particular neighborhood.
1. Click the Search tab along the bottom that has a picture of a magnifying glass
2. Click Pick Location
3. Move the map so the displayed radius encircles the area you want to search in. You may need to pinch the map to do this.
4. Click Done
5. Choose a tag you want to search for (optional)
6. Click Search.
Be able to change your settings to more easily search for bookmarks in a city you're not currently in
For example, if I'm currently in Atlanta but want to search and bookmark a bunch of locations for an upcoming trip to New York, it seems I have to change my city to NYC every time I do a search.5 votes
We’ve changed this so that when you change your city to do a search it stays in the new location until you change it back. Hope this helps! :)
When using the filter to find a place, I'd like to be able to quickly access only the tags I've actually used on my entries. But unfortunately the "My Tags" section displays just a few of the tags currently in use, not all of them.
Could you please fix this or add an "limit to applied tags" option? Thanks!2 votes
Replaced by search field in 2.0
The location field of the filter dialog is missing an option to clear the location information. Once a location is picked on the map it cannot be removed as a filter criterion.
In case I decide I want to filter by tag rather than location an option similar to the select/deselect feature of the tags field would be much appreciated.2 votes
Available in Matchbook 2.0, released in the App Store today!
When you save a place, there is an option to share on Facebook.
You can also click on any saved venue, and then press the Share button. Choose Facebook from the dropdown list.
I'm using the app to bookmark places overseas. So when I bookmark something in New Orleans, for example, the neighbourhood 'French Quarter' comes up, instead of 'New Orleans'.
Ideally, whichever city GPS registers you as being in is separated into neighbourhoods, and the rest remain grouped into major cities.
Manually is fine.3 votes
When you bookmark a place in a city that is different from the one you are currently in, we show you a view of all the bookmarks in that city.
Click Back at the top of your screen. You will be brought to a view of all the bookmarks in your current city broken down by neighborhood. At the bottom of your list should be an Other Cities section that says New Orleans.
This is available in the new update. The top of the Tag List is not a section called My Tags. It displays tags that you have used that are not already in the default list. Let us know how this is working for you and if we should expand it to all tags that you recently used.
The update is in the app store. Each place now has a More Info button with pictures, links to reviews, and tips.
One of mine has a typo - is there any way I can delete a user created bookmark?
Swipe the bookmark to the right, just like in the Mail app. A delete button will appear.
- Don't see your idea?
